Seven Factors of Equanimity in the Midst of Turmoil (in person and online)

Led by Ryushin Paul Haller

It’s not that equanimity ensures a life of serenity, but rather that it enables a resilient willingness to work with whatever arises. There is a teaching in early Buddhism that lays out a seven-fold path to equanimity. That’s what we’ll explore in this workshop.

As each of the seven factors is practised, it contributes to the capacity to face life’s numerous challenges. Rather than responding with reactivity or anxiety, we can cultivate the capacity to respond with kindness and insight.

There will be opportunity to practise with each factor and time for questions as we move through the practices. As we learn to “listen to” and feel our emotions, we integrate them into our being and practise in a way that invites us to trust ourselves and face our difficult emotions.

We invite you to participate in person at Black Mountain Zen Centre or online via Zoom, and please let us know if you plan to be here in person. We will record the event and send the link online if you request.

  • Suggested donation £25, but please just donate whatever you can afford – your presence is the most important offering.
